Since we live in a world where time is a very pretious commodity, floor restoration has become an important and successfull service that Indfloor provides.
In Romania, floor restoration isn't yet as popular as abroad mainly because:
- a large part of the floors in our country are relatively new, and as a consequence they haven't needed yet a major reconditioning process
- very few people know that a damaged floor doesn't necesarily imply its replacement. It may as well be restored and it regains its initial characteristics
Moreover, all of the above can be obtained with much lower costs, approx. 20-50% of the replacement cost of an old floor with a new one. Also, the time saved by restoring a floor can be considerable.
What is the process of restoring a floor?
It's a very simple, yet efficient process. Here are the steps:
- the old floor needs to be thoroughly cleaned (with powerful detergents), to make sure we eliminate every trace of dirt
- we wait for the freshly cleaned surface to dry
- we remedy possible flaws of the old floor
- we apply polyurethane layers on the old surface (2 layers for transparent polyurethane, 4 layers for coloured polyurethane)
End result? A similar floor with the initial surface (for transparent polyurethane) or a new coloured floor (for coloured polyurethane).
The advantages of floor restoration:
- decreased costs (approx. 20-30% of the replacement cost of the old floor - for transparent polyurethane, and approx. 40-50% of the replacement cost of the old floor - for coloured polyurethane)
- time! If, for replacing 40-50 sqm of PVC carpet we would need approx. 5-6 days (unmounting the carpet, remaking of the support layer, mounting of the new carpet), to restore the same polyurethane floor we would need only 4-6 hours (regardless of transparent or coloured polyurethane)
- resistance - the restored floor will have a higher resistance compared to the initial floor (resistance to traffic and to chemical agents)
- the multitude of floors this process can be applied to (PVC carpet, linoleum, leveling compound, epoxy resins, polyurethane resins, etc.) and domains of use (sanitary floors, sports floors, industrial floors, commercial use floors, etc.)
- it can be applied as a matte or shiny finish, smooth or anti-slippery
- various colour range, multitude of patterns and designs
- much easier floor maintenance
- all the floor restoration systems are certified by renowned european institutes
